First American Back

Authored by Abe F. March

First American Back is a story about the author's entrepreneurial pursuits that took him to Beirut, Lebanon. He got caught up in Lebanon's civil war that led to his abduction and financial disaster. He departed Lebanon when the civil war's 27th cease-fire failed to hold. Trying to recoup his losses, he returned one year later and was hailed as "The First American Back" by a British journalist. His travels throughout the Middle East reveal the difficulties encountered by westerners doing business in that region along with misconceptions associated with their culture. His thoughts and concerns are as relevant today as when they were first written.

About the author:
I am retired and live in a small town in South West Germany's wine region. I am a member of the Men's choir; I help out with the wine harvest, and enjoy hiking. My wife Gisela enjoys gardening, sings in the Church Choir and is an avid reader.
My three children all received their Bachelor's degree from Penn State University. My youngest daughter Caroline further received her Master's degree from Duke University. She is married, has two children and lives in Virginia. My daughter Christine is married and lives in Germany. Duane received his Masters Degree from UNC at Chapel Hill and his Doctors degree in ancient history from the University of California Berkeley. He is still single and lives in Germany.

WAKING GOD-PRE-PUBLICATION REVIEWS-3RD EDITION

NOW MORE THAN EVER, YOU NEED TO READ THE WAKING GOD TRILOGY!
3rd Edition to be released on the full moon, 1/19/2011 by ALL THINGS THAT MATTER PRESS!

"Waking God takes the reader on a spiritual journey to a higher good that tends to break the barriers of dogmas that have kept people in the dark for ages.  Waking God by Philip Harris and Brian Doe will give Dan Brown fans a new idol.  This book shatters philosophical dogmas that the Church of Rome will be pressed to once again defend itself for philosophical deceit.

Waking God is enlightening.  It does not attempt to destroy ones faith in God, but rather provides credence to a higher power - the supernatural powers of the universe.  The forces of good -vs- evil is presented with credibility shrouded in mystery. Threats of violence together with intrigue for the developing hero and heroine keeps the reader wanting to know what happens next.

I encourage the reader to take this mystical journey that unfolds with carefully researched historical facts with a supernatural twist.  You will enjoy this journey to a higher realm of being and understanding.

If you liked “The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons or The Lost Symbol, by Dan Brown, you will thoroughly enjoy Waking God.  It is destined to be a Number One Bestseller. "

Abe March, author of THEY PLOTTED REVENGE AGAINST AMERICA

Waking God is the first novel in a trilogy by  Philip F. Harris and Brian L. Doe, reissued in its third edition by All Things That Matter Press. Though it is a thriller that can simply be read for its faced-paced story and non-stop action, still one would be remiss to call it a page-turner, merely.  For it’s also a fantasy, a book of religious, or is it anti-religious, or is it anti-religious religious, theology?  There’s the rub—the book refuses to be put in a box.  It keeps jumping out at you.
It’s also a story of love and friendship and trust on many levels, a story of jealously, insanity and international intrigue that moves across the globe, and told in a dizzying series of camera angles and cuts.  It’s a book of prophesy in the truest Old Testament sense. That is, it does not predict, or claim to predict, the future any more than Jeremiah or Elijah do. Rather, it allegorically suggests, as the prophets of old did, “keep on doing as you are doing and you just might end up in the sort of mayhem you seem to be headed for,” leaving the “there, I told you so” to the future.  Ultimately it is a book of idealism and misplaced hope.
It’s a book in which your grandma’s common-place theology is turned on its head and shaken like her old salt-cellar, just to see what falls out.  And what does?  Angels who may or may not be demons and demons who may be the ones wearing white hats and werewolves and old ideas that, like that old, caked salt in grandma’s old shaker, may have stuck together in the wrong way after all these years of unexamined religion and unaware life.

Terrorism, by definition...

...operates outside the traditional rules of war. It's hard to combat because attacks are no longer limited to people wearing military uniforms at well-formed battle lines: they can happen anywhere, at any time, and they may well target people who don't have any direct knowledge of the peoples and issues involved. They Plotted Revenge Against America

An American attack on Baghdad leaves heartbroken and angry survivors. Two families, one Muslim and one Christian, are wiped out; their young adult progeny are determined to avenge the loss of their loved ones. David Levy, an Israeli Secret Service Agent with a grudge of his own, knows just how to tap into the vulnerabilities that grief leaves, and organizes the training of select individuals whose desire for vengeance is strong enough to consider a deadly covert mission in America. Trainees will learn to blend in, disappear in the multicultural mix of the US and then infest the food and water supply with a deadly flu virus capable of mutating and infecting the human population. The antidote - if it works - will only be revealed under strict demands. Some team members come to realize that they could ultimately be responsible for millions of innocent deaths. Their actions could break the stalemate between the Israelis and Palestinians - or bring on unparalleled tragedy.

(Excerpt – page 148)

…Now she expected to endure the same fate at the hands of the security police, as she would have expected in Russia. She bit her lip. Her face took on a determined look. No, she would not give them what they want and they would not break her. Without her knowing it, someone had been sitting in the room observing her. She was startled when the person said,
“How did you come to know David Levy?”
“Who’s to say I know David Levy?”
“Are you denying it?”
“I simply want to know who is saying that I know him. And why was I abducted?”
“I’m asking the questions. You will answer them.”
“I am not required to answer any of your questions. You have kidnapped me and brought me here by force. And why must I remain blindfolded. Are you afraid to show your face?”
“I ask you again, how do you know David Levy?”
“Why do you want to know?”
“You impertinent sow.” He slapped her across the face. Her head snapped back like whiplash. The stinging of the slap was nothing compared to the fury she felt. If only I could get my hands on that person ,he would never slap me again, she thought…

”Terrorism frightens people because it operates outside the traditional rules of war. It's hard to combat because the attacks are no longer limited to people wearing military uniforms at well-formed battle lines: they can happen anywhere, at any time, and they may well target people who don't have any direct knowledge of the peoples and issues involved. Part of the terror is the pervasive feeling that nobody’s safe.

This is the arena of Abe F. March's chilling novel They Plotted Revenge Against America. The novel is chilling, not because it's filled with “just more violence” in the Middle East, but because the story occurs on American soil as survivors of the American attack on Baghdad blend in to mainstream society to personally extract revenge against everyday citizens.

They Plotted Revenge Against America is a plausible, sobering, intricate and effectively plotted story about a group of well-trained, well-coordinated teams who slip into the U.S. with forged papers and then painstakingly work through a plan that will infect food and water supplies with a deadly virus.

These team members are not the gun-wielding, grenade-throwing stereotypical terrorists we see in most TV shows and movies. They are everyday people who have suffered personal loss and who want to fight back. Once their mission is complete, they plan, if possible, to go back to their normal lives. As the mission unfolds, they alternate between excitement and doubt while trying to avoid detection, and in the process, they discover while blending into community life, that Americans are not the monsters they expected.

March’s story tends to humanize both the terrorists and their victims, showing Americans as largely unconcerned and ill-informed about the agendas and issues involved in the long-time conflicts between Israel and its Arab neighbors. On the other hand, the terrorists see themselves not as criminals but as soldiers responding to what they view as acts of war taken against their communities.

Since the overall mission leader is a double agent working for Israel's Mossad, group members must not only avoid Homeland Security and other U.S. law enforcement agencies, but the highly effective Israeli intelligence agency as well. This subplot is a nice touch in a book that suggests we're more vulnerable than we suspect.,.”

When the words of Jesus are interpreted out of context they can be used to justify many contradictory concepts. However, when they are examined as a "stream of thought," we see the truth. In JESUS TAUGHT IT, TOO: THE EARLY ROOTS OF THE LAW OF ATTRACTION, Philip Harris examines over seventy quotes from the Master and shows that, contrary to recent claims and "revelations," the Law of Attraction has not been a secret at all. Instead, it has has been there for all to see for over two thousand years. Discover the truth. Read JESUS TAUGHT IT TOO and return to the love, prosperity, and power that Jesus himself promised.

Obviously the Amazon.uk listings will be totally in English but it will be great to have our author's titles available throughout the EU.

“They Plotted Revenge is an intriguing read, and one that left the hair on the back of my neck standing up. It’s one thing to think of a war “over there” that is more out of sight and out of mind than we care to admit. It’s another thing altogether to realize that the actions that have led us to this point in history could actually be unstoppable. This story – part fiction and a whole lot of real – is about an attack set to take place in the US, right under our noses. It isn’t about bombs going off, or folks firing guns and rockets at one another. This is about getting at the very foundation of our own survival. Iraqi youths from different backgrounds within their own country are recruited as covert operators of a frightening army. They are trained to blend in, become part of the society that they are preparing to unravel. They are tasked with infecting America’s food and water with a deadly virus that can mutate to humans, and for which there may not be a ready cure in time, or at a price that we can afford. Working for someone who turns out to be a double agent, at first glance they seem just like young couples anywhere, and all of them are prepared to give up their lives for their cause. As they get to know the Americans that they hide among however, some of them lose heart and decide not to go through with the plan, but in the world that we live in, there will always be someone that will see a project through to the end, even after the battle has ended. Author Abe F. March provides us with a safe haven – a good book – to read, discuss and explore what’s really happening, and this is a book you’ll want to make time for
